Famous as Vancouver's counter-culture mecca in the 1960's, Fourth Avenue has remade itself into a  shopping street that is invitingly walkable. 

Fourth Avenue and West Broadway (seven blocks south) have hundreds of shops, restaurants and services to offer.

Specialty grocery stores and restaurants reflect West Broadway's Greek neighbourhood history, though myriad other retail and dining options are to be found in the dozen-block stretch within fifteen minutes' walk of the Corkscrew Inn.

Even with so many good places to dine closer to home, we often rouse ourselves to walk the extra few minutes to get to one of so many excellent restaurants within easy striking distance:  Nuba on Broadway; Au Comptoir, Bishop's, Fable, Jam Cafe, Trattoria, and Maenam on Fourth Avenue; AnnaLena on 1st...  You can't eat nearly as much as we could tell you about.

Kitsilano Beach has been a Vancouver playground and respite from the urban melee for more than a hundred years.  It is a local favourite, summer and winter.

At three times the length of a Olympic pool, the swimming pool at Kits Beach is Canada's longest, and one of the few heated salt water pools in North America.

The Kitsilano Showboat is an outdoor stage offering free performances through the summer months.
