on the west side, in Kitsilano

Our inn is a carefully restored 1912 Craftsman style home, a showcase of stained glass artistry, and a museum of antique objects related to the making and enjoyment of wine.  We designed the Corkscrew Inn to be the type of place we like to stay when we're away - comfortable, luxurious, and full of interesting things.

We could live anywhere in Vancouver, and we choose here.  From our quiet, tree-lined street in the historic Kitsilano neighbourhood, you can stroll two blocks south to a variety of shops and good restaurants.  Walk a block and a half north and you're on a Pacific Ocean beach.

Granville Island, downtown Vancouver, the cruise ship terminals, our beloved Stanley Park, and the University of British Columbia with its public golf course and Pacific Spirit Park trails are only a few minutes away by car, and we are well served by public transit - especially to UBC and to the downtown core.

Our guest rooms are furnished in distinctive styles complementing their theme corkscrews, and each has an en-suite bathroom and a variety of luxury amenities. Several rooms feature fireplaces and soaker tubs.  All but one have private balconies overlooking the gardens.  You can connect to the Internet (wired and faster-than-usual wireless) throughout the house, in the wine cellar museum, and on the spacious verandas.

We bake bread; we smoke wild salmon; we grow our own grapes for jelly...  Breakfast is an event at The Corkscrew Inn.

Business and holiday travellers will appreciate the home-away-from-home conveniences: chill your wine; iron your linen; make a pot of tea; share a glass with friends in the wine museum; relax with a newspaper in an easy chair at the end of the day.

Come stay with us!
